Near the secondary target area at the southesat corner of the large forest about half way home on course, I spotted two at 11 high. Took out the ballon to the NE, then turned for home climbing to 2000m. By that time, the fight was nearing the ground with only 2 e left. Had him smoking heavily after a few B&Z then carried on to the main fight. Now at about 3000m, he turned to fight me. Rolled in & dove, getting the leader on 1st pass & chasing away the second. I arrived at the contact point, found the friendlies w/ the trailing friendly & 2 D7's closing in on it. Not sure if that worked or just luck, but they did not fumble about trying to climb/attack the two seater & both remained on course. As they neared the area of the secondary target & I had spotted it with its cover of 2, I hit key to "Follow Mission". Kept a climbing course to 4000m at contact area but about 1000m off to the east, the two other fights following the set course about 500m below at my 7. Last attempt very close to historical, very cool. thinking all we had to do was clear the 6 of twoseaters and follow them home…which takes a very long time, as they decend from about 3500m to land at their base.īTW, as the two seaters all circle down to landing, following exact same course, they all land "just short" of the field in same place……had a coffee to drink, so just just followed them in a slow decent. Thought I'd tried everything, as beifing does'nt state all e must be destroyed. DVII's on Fly Now and can win that, so I don't think this should be impossible. Any recommendations? One of the most frustrating parts of the mission is that if I get shot down, it's a 10–15 minute wait to try again as I reload and fly out to the front.

I'm playing with the Veteran realism settings.įinally, time acceleration doesn't seem to be working consistently - sometimes it does nothing, often it maxes out at about 2x (by timing the clock vs. Is that the altitude (~2.5 km) or the number of planes slowing down the frame rate? It feels smooth so I think the former. The mission objective says I have to get all 8 DVII's, though, so just getting two and living to fight another day aren't good enough. When there is a fair fight, I usually end up in a few head on passes where I score some hits, they score some hits on me, and eventually I'm dead or too damaged to continue. Does anyone know what the trick is to getting them involved? Should I be fighting the two Pfalz XII's that appear before the front or bypassing them? Sometimes at least one of the two friendly flights joins the fray. Here are several questions I'm pondering.įrequently, when I arrive at the primary objective I'm all alone - the 10 friendly AI SPADs have headed home. I've been playing the game for a few weeks and am through the training and German campaigns, and almost have the US one finished. I'm stuck on the final mission in the Hat in the Ring campaign so I thought I'd ask for some help from the community.
